Ian Smith, Non-Executive Chairman

Mr. Smith was appointed Chairman in February 2008. He has more than 35 years experience within the travel industry, having been a director of Thomson Travel Group Plc, UK’s largest travel group, for more than ten years and having held different managerial positions within the group. He led Lunn Poly (UK’s largest travel retailer, part of Thomson) for ten years between 1989 and 1999, achieving market leadership and growing turnover from £500 million to £1.6 billion. In 1998, as executive chairman, he led the integration of Crystal International and Austravel into the Thomson group. He joined Tempo Holdings in 2001 as non-executive director, and Sun Villas Florida Direct, a specialist internet travel company, as chairman. Mr. Smith has extensive expertise managing businesses and proven ability setting strategy, developing effective teams and driving growth and profitability in highly competitive international leisure sector.

Executive Directors

Matthew C. Ng, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Ng co-founded ETCH in 2000 and is responsible for establishing and maintaining Et-china’s key relationships with strategic partners and key suppliers. Prior to founding Et-china, Mr. Ng worked as an investment banker in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia including roles at First KL Capital Group and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Mr Ng holds a Master of Science from Auckland University in New Zealand and an MBA from AGSM, University of New South Wales in Australia which he completed under the International Management Programme at New York University School of Business.

Hong Zheng, GZL Chairman and General Manager

Mr. Zheng has been the Chairman and General Manager of GZL since 1990. Prior to GZL he held senior management positions at the state-owned Guangzhou Automobile Company and also division chief of the Guangzhou Government Travel Bureau. Mr Zheng was primarily responsible for building GZL into the leading group leisure travel operator in South China and he was honoured as one of the industry’s top 10 executives by the nationwide newspaper China Travel in 2002.

Kitty X. Yang, Vice President and Chief Administration Officer

Ms. Yang is responsible for managing all financial functions at ETC and its controlled subsidiaries, as well as managing group-wide administration and human resources. Joining ETCH at inception, Ms. Yang previously worked in financial management for 12 years with Guangdong Foreign Economy Development Corporation, where she rose to Deputy General Manager of Finance in 1996.

Non-Executive Directors

Robert Drummond, Non-Executive Director

Mr. Drummond has substantial board experience in several sectors after a career in venture capital (having been managing director of NatWest Ventures Ltd., chief executive of Grosvenor Development Capital Plc, deputy chairman of Electra Kingsway Ltd and a regional director of 3i Plc). He sat on the British Venture Capital Association committee for six years, becoming its chairman in 1992/93, and on the CBI Small Firms Council. For more than 10 years Mr. Drummond held non-executive directorships in Manpower Software Plc - where he also held the position of Managing Director, Southnews Plc, Vega Plc and Triad Group Plc. Mr. Drummond is currently non-executive chairman for Cornestone Developments Ltd, chairman of Chrysalis Venture Capital Trust Plc, non-executive director of Core Control International Ltd and is non-executive chairman in Acta SpA. Mr. Drummond is also a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Securities Institute.
